Jerry's Bio:

Jerry Plush is president and chief operating officer for Webster Bank and Webster Financial Corporation, and serves as a member of the Webster Bank Board of Directors. Plush is responsible for overseeing all the financial activities of Webster and its subsidiaries, consisting of accounting, treasury, corporate and business finance, corporate development, procurement and investor relations. In addition, he is responsible for oversight of risk management, including corporate security, audit, compliance, operating risk and credit risk functions. Plush was given responsibility to lead corporate strategy in 2010, and as of January 2011, he was promoted to vice chairman and chief operating officer, and became responsible for oversight of all shared services functions, which consist of information technology, facilities, cash management, loan and deposit operations, continuous improvement, public affairs and human resources. In December of 2011, he was promoted to president and elected to the board of directors, and is now also responsible for oversight of marketing and ebanking activities. Before joining Webster in July 2006, Plush spent 11 years with MBNA America in Wilmington, Del., most recently as senior executive vice president and managing director of Corporate Development and Acquisitions. In this position, he was responsible for the diversification into new lines of businesses and portfolio acquisitions in both the domestic and international markets. Prior to this position, Plush was senior executive vice president and chief financial officer for MBNA's North American Operations, where he was responsible for all finance functions related to MBNA's U.S. Card, Consumer Finance and Canadian operations. Plush earned a B.S. in accounting from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Services Roundtable and Financial Executives International. He also serves as a member of the executive committee and on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southwest New England.
